Janevette Cole is an Educator, Parent and experienced Community Leader committed to ensuring every student in Alameda County can receive a high quality education.
A Representative of the Hayward Promise Neighborhoods Initiative, Janevette works with school administrators, school board members, parents, principals and students to oversee programs that are part of a 30 million dollar U. S. Department of Education grant. She designed and implemented a college pipeline program that provides automatic admission to Cal State East Bay for high school students. She has led mentoring conferences for high school and college students and oversees “Fresh Food for Families” a program providing access to quality food to families throughout Hayward. She previously served as a Parent Liaison for Hayward Unified School District, where she designed and implemented parent engagement programs designed to give parents a voice in their child’s education system.
A former small businesswoman, Janevette is experienced in managing budgets and overseeing critical timelines. She is a graduate of Mills College and earned a Masters in Public Administration & Policies from California State University, East Bay. Janevette is a parent to three adult children who attended public schools throughout the Hayward area.
